MENOPAUSE

Menopause support through hypnosis

You know yourself.  Menopause feels like someone changed the locks.

The tiredness that sleep doesn’t fix.  The heat that arrives uninvited.  The fog that makes you doubt your own mind.  The moods that feel like yours but also somehow not.

You haven’t lost yourself.  But you may need help finding your way back.

Hypnosis works directly with the part of your brain that regulates stress responses, sleep architecture, and the emotional patterns that menopause amplifies.  It doesn’t mask symptoms – it retrains the system that’s producing them.

In a single course of sessions, many of my clients find significant relief from hot flushes, broken sleep, anxiety, and the kind of mental exhaustion that no amount of rest seems to touch.

What is menopause?

Menopause marks the end of your reproductive years – a universal biological process you can’t choose, can’t stop, and don’t have to simply endure.

The symptoms most women experience are driven by shifts in oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone, and, as recent research confirms, by changes in brain hormones that govern temperature regulation, mood and sleep.

Around 70 – 80% of women experience symptoms.  They can last anywhere from two to ten years.  That’s not a sentence.  It’s a window – and the experience inside it is far more shapeable than most women are told.

Understanding symptoms

Every woman’s journey is different.  Here’s what’s actually happening – and why.

Erratic periods

Your cycle may change gradually or stop suddenly.  Some women miss several months, assume it’s over, and are caught off guard by a return before things finally settle.

Hot flushes and night sweats

The signature symptom of menopause waves of heat, flushing, palpitations, sometimes followed by chills.  Night sweats fracture sleep and leave a tiredness that accumulates over weeks and months.

Sleep disruption

Falling oestrogen affects serotonin and melatonin production.  Add stress and low progesterone, and quality sleep starts to feel like something that happens to other people.

Brain fog

Trouble concentrating, short-term memory lapses, a sense of thinking through cotton wool.  Unsettling – but rarely permanent, and highly responsive to the right support.

Fatigue

When sleep is broken, mood is low, joints ache and stress is high, the body runs on empty.  For many women, fatigue becomes the most pervasive and demoralising symptom of all.

Mood changes

Lower oestrogen influences mood directly, but life context matters too – stress, past experiences, and the sheer cumulative weight of this transition all play a role.  These shifts are real.  They are also workable.

Joint and muscle aches

Oestrogen influences tissues throughout the entire body.  Movement remains one of the most effective responses – even when every instinct says rest.

The Menopause House

Think of your wellbeing during menopause as a house in winter.  The heating is on –  your body is doing its best – but several windows are open, letting warmth escape.

Each window represents a different system:  sleep, stress, hormones, nutrition, movement, emotional regulation, and mindset.

Closing one window makes a difference.  Closing them all steadily – with consistent support and targeted practice – transforms the whole house.

This is why women who work with me often describe a turning point: not a single dramatic shift, but a gradual, cumulative feeling of being more themselves again.  Warmer.  Clearer.  More settled.

Hypnosis address several of those windows at once – particularly the ones connected to the nervous system, stress response, and the patterns of thought and emotion that menopause tends to amplify.

How hypnosis actually works

Hypnosis works at the level of the nervous system – not the conscious mind.

Many of the most disruptive menopause symptoms aren’t just hormonal.  They are patterns your nervous system has learned to run:  the stress response that triggers a hot flush, the hyper vigilance that prevents sleep, the emotional reactivity that feels disproportionate to what’s actually happening.

Willpower and information can’t reach those patterns.  Hypnosis can – because it creates the specific neurological conditions in which new pathways form.  The brain becomes receptive in a way it simply isn’t during ordinary waking consciousness, and outdated responses can be replaced with ones that actually serve you.

This is neuroscience, not mysticism.  And it’s why women who’ve already tried everything else often find this is the thing that finally moves the dial.

How hypnosis works for menopause

Many of the disruptive menopause symptoms aren’t purely hormonal.  They’re patterns your nervous system has learned to run – and patterns can be changed.

The stress response that triggers a flush.  The hypervigilance that prevents sleep even when you’re exhausted.  The emotional reactivity that feels disproportionate to what’s actually happening.  These are your brain running established pathways at high speed, amplified by the hormonal shifts of menopause.  Knowing that doesn’t make them stop.  Willpower doesn’t reach the level where they are generated.

Hypnosis does.  In a deeply relaxed but fully aware state, your brain becomes receptive to change at the level where automatic responses are actually stored.  New pathways form.  Old ones lose their grip.  The symptoms that have felt unmanageable begin to shift – not because you’ve suppressed them, but because the nervous system patterns producing them have been retrained.

What clients say:

“I came in barely sleeping and convinced I was losing my mind.  Three sessions in the hot flushes had halved and I was sleeping through the night of the first time.”

Ready to feel more like you?

If you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or just quietly not recognising yourself – this is where that changes.

Your first step is the free consultation – no commitment, no pressure.  We talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’ve already tried, and whether hypnosis is the right fit for where you are right now.

From there, most clients work with me for at least six sessions.  That’s the time frame research suggests is needed to begin laying down new neural pathways  – essentially the way your nervous system responds to the triggers that menopause amplifies.  Some women need a few more sessions.  What makes the difference is consistent engagement with the practices between sessions, not just the sessions themselves.

This isn’t a passive process.  But it is a proven one – and the results tend to be lasting rather than temporary, because we’re working at the level of the wiring, not just the symptoms.

Sessions are available in person and online.  I work with women at every stage of the menopause journey, from perimenopause through post-menopause, and I tailor every session to what you’re actually experiencing – not a generic script.

Get in touch today, I’d love to hear from you.
